John Lennon once said,Life happens while you're busy making other plans. |
We say,Art happens while you're busy making other plans. |
There are two trains of thought here.
1. Work. Socialize. Sleep. Repeat. Such is life. So where does reading cool words and staring at sweet art come into play? Nowhere. Well, we want to change that. And we're going to make it real simple. Come to the site. Pick the amount of time you have to spend on getting your daily dose of art. Read/stare. Leave. Repeat.
Priorities.1. Providing unique and thought-provoking content.
2. Giving you options - "short", "long," and "longer." 3. Organizing our content into themed issues. 4. Making our site easy to navigate. |
2. We've all experienced the countless clicks to Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram while waiting in the doctor's office or during commercial breaks. We think this is an evil way to spend time, so we wanted to provide a better alternative. Something that would broaden the mind and inspire - not distract and discourage.
Core values.

About the editor.Anna Bowman is about to get her bachelor’s degree from Ball State University in creative writing and telecommunications. After she graduates, she plans on getting a job in the publishing or video-editing field. She’d do just about anything to travel, so she’s looking for something that gets her out of the country – or at least out of the 25-mile radius.
During her undergraduate, Anna has been published in two literary magazines, The Broken Plate and The Odyssey, and had a bi-weekly column for the Ball State Daily News, for which she was also forum editor. She cultivated her experience in the publishing field further by taking on the role as one of the poetry editors on The Broken Plate, a nationally distributed literary magazine produced by Ball State undergrads. With the experience of being a poetry and forum editor, she has learned a lot about working effectively in groups and fighting for the right pieces to be published. In addition to creating In Transit, Anna has also enjoyed developing a website for the David Owsley Museum of Art. As a Virginia B. Ball scholar, she, along with 14 other students, created a tool for generating new ways of looking at the pieces of Ball State’s impressive art collection. Called The Infinite Museum, it’s an app that prompts you with questions, quotes, and challenges while you wander the museum, allowing you to get the most out of your visit. This project has taught Anna a lot about group decision-making, website development, and thinking outside of the box. When Anna’s not editing for In Transit, you can find her reading celebrity autobiographies and working on her killer rap skills.
